How to apply
Please fill in the application form above so we can send further details to you. We are still accepting applications for the upcoming project (performance on 1 Feb). Auditions are free of charge: the process is more about us getting to know your playing than about getting in or not. If you have any queries or if you would like to pop into a rehearsal to see what it’s like, do just email us.
Video Audition
We ask for a short video of you playing something of your own choosing. There is no need for you to play a complete piece, but pick something which you feel represents your playing well. The video can be transferred to us at [email protected] using WeTransfer. Accompaniment is optional. It may also be possible to arrange an in-person audition. We will make in-person auditions friendly and informal!
Playing Standard
The expected standard is approximately Grade 7+ for wind and brass players. Clarinettists should have a pair of instruments (A and Bb); trumpet and horn players should have some transposing experience and trombonists should have met the tenor clef. For strings and percussion the level is Grade 6+. There is no need to have taken exams. Contact us if you have any questions.
Audition Guidance
You don’t need expensive equipment to record your audition – recording on a phone is perfectly fine. Set up in a room where you can feel comfortable and choose something to play that you enjoy performing.
